Every year, hundreds of Israeli students choose to study in Italy in order to enrich their cultural and academic background. Thanks to its very active universities, centers of higher education and prestigious academies of fine arts attended by students from all over the world, Italy is a vibrant and modern educational environment. Italian universities are among the leading world institutions for scientific and technological research, and lovers of art and history come to the "Belpaese" from all over the world to study the unique treasures of Italian art and history. The Embassy of Italy in Israel and, for students residing in Jerusalem, the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem, assist students in the pre-enrollment at Italian universities and for granting the necessary entry visa for study reasons.

procedure
Foreign citizens residing in Israel intending to attend Italian universities are required to:
1. Pre-enroll by 21/6/2013 through the Italian Cultural Institutes of Tel Aviv or the Haifa section. Documents requested, all to be submitted in original and two copies:
- Original Diploma of Bagrut with the apostille of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Israel complete with translation in Italian made by a translator known by the Embassy.
- The original results of a psychometric testing complete with an Italian translation made by a translator known by the Embassy.
- 2 copies of the passport's first page including the entire holder's data.
- 2 ID-size pictures.
2. At the time of enrollment, students will be assigned an appointment for the submission to the Embassy of Italy of the documentation requested for issuing an entry visa for study purpose, being granted free of charge. At the appointment, students must submit the following documentation:
a) The form including the applicant's name and the date/time of the consular meeting given by the Italian Cultural Institutes of Tel Aviv or the Haifa section.
b) The visa application form duly and clearly completed.
c) A recent ID-size picture.
d) Original and copy of the applicant's passport.
e) Financial documentation demonstrating the availability in Italy of means of subsistence, equal to not less than € 417.30 per each month of the academic year. This availability can be demonstrated by personal or family means, or with financial guarantees provided by Italian established credit institutions, local governments, or reliable foreign Institutions (e.g. bank accounts payable exclusively to the student or formal letters of bank guarantee issued exclusively in the name of the student).
f) Travel ticket booking.
g) Health insurance with minimum coverage of Euro 30,000 for expenses for emergency hospital treatment and repatriation costs.
h) Documentation proving the availability of an accommodation in Italy, reasonably close to the university, covering at least the first month of stay. Examples include:
1) A hotel booking confirmation;
2) An invitation by an Italian resident to be supported by the copy of the hosting person's ID or, in case of non-Italians temporarily living in Italy, of their valid permit of stay.
i) Documentation stating the applicant's knowledge of the Italian language, e.g.:
1) An Italian language diploma issued by a known institution obtained by examination after attending an Italian language course of at least 180 hours;
2) An Italian language diploma issued, for a fee and after passing an exam, by the Italian Cultural Institute of Tel Aviv or the Haifa section
